Relyve

Does Relyve compress photos and videos?

No. Photos and videos stay at original quality, and 4K plays back in 4K in the browser.

No. Relyve does not compress the media you deliver. A video uploaded in 4K streams to your couple in 4K, in the browser on a phone or a computer.

Downloads follow the same rule. When a client saves the gallery, the files are prepared in their original quality.

Original files and streaming playback serve different purposes

Relyve preserves the original photo or video you upload so an allowed client download can use the original-quality file. That original is the delivery master. It is not replaced by a smaller upload merely to save gallery storage.

For supported plans, Relyve can also transcode video into a streaming version for reliable browser playback. A stream is designed to start quickly and adapt to the viewer’s device and connection. Preparing it does not remove the original file or prevent an original-quality download.

Why playback can look different while it starts

A browser may begin with the version it can play smoothly on the current connection, then improve as more data becomes available. Screen size, browser support and network conditions also affect what a viewer sees. The stored original remains the reference for downloading.

If exact colour or resolution matters, judge the downloaded original on a colour-managed device rather than using a brief browser preview as the only reference.
