Do Relyve uploads continue in the background?
Files under 2 GB keep uploading if you leave the app. Files over 2 GB need Relyve kept open.

Yes, for smaller files. Relyve can upload photos and videos of any size. How the upload behaves when you leave the app depends on the file size.
- Files under 2 GB keep uploading if you leave the app or lock your phone.
- Files over 2 GB need Relyve kept open until the upload finishes, so the app can use the connection.
- If your connection drops or the app closes, your progress is saved and the upload resumes automatically when you are back online.
While a large file still needs the app open, the upload queue may say “Keep Relyve open”. Once that handoff is done on iPhone, it can say it is safe to leave Relyve.
How background uploading works
On iPhone, Relyve can hand eligible transfers to the phone’s background upload system. That allows smaller files to continue while you use another app or lock the screen. The upload queue confirms when that handoff is ready instead of asking you to guess.
Files over 2 GB follow a foreground upload process and need Relyve to stay open. This avoids implying that every large transfer can continue after the app is suspended. If you leave too early, reopen Relyve and the saved queue can continue the work.
What the upload messages mean
“Keep Relyve open” means at least one selected file still needs the active app. “Safe to leave Relyve” means eligible uploads have been handed to the background process. “Waiting for connection” means progress is paused until the phone can reach a usable network again.
Background upload and video processing are different. Background upload moves the original file from the phone. Processing prepares an uploaded video for playback and happens after the transfer.
