How to save photos and videos to your Camera Roll
On iPhone, smaller selections save to Photos through the share sheet. Larger files go to Files, or use a ZIP download.

On a phone, a Relyve gallery can save photos and videos straight to the Camera Roll. This is for the client opening the gallery, and it works without an account.
- Open the gallery link on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Select the photos and videos you want to keep.
- Tap Save. On iPhone, Relyve opens the share sheet so you can save to Photos.
- On a computer, the same gallery downloads the files instead of saving them to a camera roll.
How iPhone decides where files go
iPhone Safari can struggle when it holds a very large video in memory to share it. Relyve therefore uses two simple size limits so saves stay reliable.
- Per file: a photo or video of 70 MB or less goes to the Camera Roll through the share sheet. Anything larger downloads to Files instead.
- Per selection: you can save several items at once when their combined size is about 200 MB or less. They open in one share sheet, and Save puts them in Photos.
- Above about 200 MB, Relyve asks you to select fewer items or download a ZIP instead.
Videos over 70 MB that download to Files do not count toward the 200 MB Camera Roll total. Only the items that still go through the share sheet share that limit.
Examples
About 122 MB of originals under both limits — for example 30 HEIC photos at about 4 MB each, or a 60 MB video plus photos — saves straight to the Camera Roll. That is the expected behaviour.
If that 122 MB is one single video, it should not use the Camera Roll path. A single file over 70 MB downloads to Files, where you can open it or move it into Photos yourself.
If a single video over 70 MB unexpectedly opens the share sheet instead of Files, contact support with the gallery name, the file name, and the approximate size so we can check it.
What happens when a client taps Save
On a compatible phone, Save prepares the selected originals and passes eligible items to the phone’s share sheet. The client chooses Photos or Camera Roll and may need to grant the browser permission. Relyve cannot finish the save if that permission is denied.
On iPhone, Relyve checks each file and the selection total before opening the share sheet. Photos and videos of 70 MB or less can share together. A video larger than 70 MB downloads to Files instead, which keeps Safari from holding that whole file in memory just to share it.
Why the 200 MB selection limit exists
Several smaller files still need to travel through one share sheet. Keeping the direct-save total around 200 MB or less makes the save more reliable. Above that, select fewer items, or use Download so Relyve can prepare a ZIP and email you when it is ready.
Large videos already sent to Files are left out of that 200 MB total. You can still keep downloading those large videos to Files while saving a smaller Camera Roll selection separately.
When to use a ZIP instead
Use Download when the selection is larger than about 200 MB, when you want the full gallery, or when direct saving stalls. Relyve prepares the originals together and can notify the client when the ZIP is ready. Open the ZIP and save files into Photos in smaller groups if needed.
If Save is not shown, first confirm that the creator has allowed downloads. On a computer, the equivalent action downloads files rather than writing to a Camera Roll.
