How to get an email when a gallery download is ready

Ask for an email when the ZIP is ready, or keep the page open for a browser notice. Files stay at original quality.

When a client downloads a gallery, Relyve prepares the files in their original quality. Large galleries are split into ZIP files so the browser does not have to swallow the whole delivery at once.

  1. Open the gallery and choose Download for the selection or the full gallery.
  2. Confirm that the files will be prepared in original quality.
  3. Under “How should we notify you?”, choose Email me, enter an email address, then prepare the download. You can close the page after that.
  4. Or choose Notify in browser and keep the page open until the notice appears.
  5. When the email or notice arrives, open the link and save each ZIP.

Email is optional. If the client chooses email, they are notified when the download is ready and do not need to leave the page open. Very large galleries can arrive as more than one ZIP.

The creator decides whether downloads are available. If Download is missing, downloads have been turned off for that gallery.

Why a large gallery must be prepared

A full gallery can contain far more data than a browser should gather into one temporary download. Relyve prepares the originals into manageable ZIP files so the client can download the delivery in parts. This process also avoids requiring the gallery page to remain responsible for building the archive on the client’s device.

Preparation time depends on the number and total size of the selected files. A gallery containing many long 4K videos takes longer than one containing a smaller group of photos. The email option exists so the client does not have to watch a preparation screen.

Email notification and browser notification

Choose Email me when the client wants to close the page and return later. Relyve sends the ready link to the address they enter. Choose Notify in browser when they prefer to keep the page open and receive the ready notice there. Closing the page can prevent a browser notification from being seen.

The ready email is not the ZIP itself. It contains the route back to the prepared download. A very large delivery may contain several ZIP files, and each part should finish before the client removes local copies or closes the browser.
