How to password protect a gallery

A gallery link without a password can be opened by anyone who has the address. Add password protection when the delivery should stay with the couple.

1. Open the gallery, then open gallery settings.
2. Find Password protection and enter a password.
3. Save the password for that gallery.
4. Send the link to your client. When you can, send the password separately from the link.

Your client enters the password before the gallery opens. They still do not create an account. If the password is wrong, the gallery stays closed.

What password protection does

Password protection adds a gate before the gallery content appears. The visitor needs both the gallery link and the password. It is useful when a delivery contains private moments or when the link may pass through a group message or email thread.

The password protects access to the gallery; it does not create a client account. After entering the correct password, the visitor can use the viewing and download options that you have enabled for that gallery.

Choose and share the password safely

Use a password that is not easily guessed from the couple’s names, venue or wedding date. Send it separately from the gallery link when practical. If access should change, update or remove the password in gallery settings and tell the intended client.

Do not reuse your own Relyve account password as a gallery password. Support never needs the gallery password or your account password to investigate a general delivery issue.
