How to organise a gallery into scenes and sections

Group the day into sections so photos and videos are easy for your client to move through.

Last updated

In Relyve, the day is organised into sections. Creators often call these scenes — getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, the party — so the delivery is easy to move through instead of one long grid.

  1. Open the gallery and create a section for each part of the day.
  2. Name the section so your client knows what they are opening.
  3. Move photos and videos into the right section, or upload straight into it.
  4. Optionally set a cover image for the section so it is easy to recognise.

You can rename or delete a section later from the section settings. Photos and videos stay together in the same gallery, in an order your client can follow.

Why sections make a large gallery easier to use

Sections create a clear information structure inside one gallery. Instead of asking a client to scroll through every item in upload order, you can group media by moment, location or part of the day. This makes both a short highlight delivery and a large wedding gallery easier to revisit.

A section name tells the client what comes next, while its cover provides a visual cue. Moving a file changes where it appears in the story; it does not create another copy of the uploaded original or require a separate share link.

A practical wedding structure

A useful starting order is Getting ready, Ceremony, Portraits, Reception and Party. Adjust it to the actual event rather than forcing every delivery into the same template. Fewer clear sections are usually easier to understand than many sections containing only one or two items.
